Grading & Organizing Submitted Worksheets

This guide will walk you through how to efficiently manage and grade the worksheets submitted by your students.

Submissions Batches

Submissions are organized in batches. A batch contains multiple submissions that were submitted within a week for a single worksheet.

Batches help you organize submissions, keeping all related student responses in one place for easier management.

You can think of it like individual piles of paper worksheets—each batch helps you keep worksheets from different classrooms or weeks separate, just like organizing physical piles of paper. That's exactly what a batch is meant to do.

Grading Panel

To grade submissions, click on a batch, then click on a submission row to open the grading panel. The grading panel allows you to grade worksheets efficiently, enabling you to switch between submissions and provide quick, consistent feedback.

In the grading panel you can add your own comments to each student answer, provide overall feedback on the entire worksheet, and set a grade for each submission.

Organizing Options

Each submission has a status that indicates its step in the workflow. The statuses are:

  • New: You haven't reviewed the submission yet.
  • Seen: You've seen the submission but haven't graded it.
  • Graded: The submission has been graded.

There are several organizing actions available:

  • Archive: Recommended after grading a worksheet to keep the submissions panel clutter-free.
  • Delete: Only use this action to remove students' personally identifiable information (PII), such as when a student leaves the school or when required by regulations. Archiving is generally a better option, as it allows the student to retain access to their worksheet.
  • Export: Use this action if you need a printed copy of the worksheet for someone who cannot accept a digital version, or if you are required to back up learning records for regulatory purposes.

By effectively using these features, you can stay organized and ensure that your grading process remains smooth and efficient.
